ABILITY is what you are capable of doing.
MOTIVATION determines what you do.
ATTITUDE determines how well you do it.
It's time to get things done!
Whether you are a mum, entrepeneur or simply you want to accomplish most of your daily tasks in less time here you find some of my most effective productivity secrets that I'd like to share with you all:
1. Focus on what matters the most
Either in the evening before going to bed or in the morning as soon as you wake up, pick 3 main things to do straight away before thinking about the rest. Especially if they are the most nasty tasks to accomplish. Get them done first and you will have less stress during the day.
2. Set a time
Schedule your day and write it down. Especially if you work for yourself. Decide that you work from 30 to 50 minutes and then have 10-15 minutes break in between. Then back at it. Doing so you commit to finish your projects in less time.
If you are doing something that doesn't require a lot of concentration you can listen to audiobooks or podcasts. They are free to download and they can help you be more creative and learn something new. It doesn't require extra time and it's the perfect way to multitask effectively.
4. Set a routine
If you are a morning person try to get up earlier than usual and go through a list of main things to accomplish that day. Let all your ideas come out and write them down, brainstorm and take time for yourself. This will definitely help you to create more energy during the day and work efficiently.
I usually get up early because I want to take my time. Shower and then breakfast with a nice cosy cup of tea (yes, i am a very tea person!). The reason I do that is because breakfast really helps me to meditate. I think of best ways to manage my day and list everything in my mind.
Find your way to meditate 10 to 20 minutes. Whether it's breathing exercises, a coffee and a book or a walk outside. Use this precious time to exercise your brain.
6. It's time to disconnect now!
It's very important to set a time to disconnect from your list. If you stress too much because you haven't finished something don't beat yourself up or think that you failed.
One of our most common mistakes is that we try to do too much, but then we end up going crazy. Instead of thinking that we crushed our day we feel the pressure of our productivity list and how much we left undone.
Now you can finally dedicate time to your family, your loved one and forget about your to do list. Relax, have a cup of tea, chat to your partner or a friend, watch a movie, have a pamper night, a long bubbly bath... Do something that you love and take care of yourself. You will be fresh and ready to attack the following day!
